The Blueprint Denver Summit Schools Fellows Program:

The Blueprint Denver Summit Schools Fellows program is part of a larger school turnaround mission, the Denver Summit Schools Network (DSSN) Program (further described below), which takes practices that are common to highly effective charter and public schools and implements these practices in low-performing traditional public schools to accelerate achievement.

The Fellowship is a year of service in urban education tutoring program designed to give students additional exposure to core instructional areas where they are struggling. Fellows instruct students daily in small group settings to supplement and enhance traditional in-class mathematics and literacy instruction. Currently, Fellows work with a variety of grade levels in elementary, middle, and high schools across the DSSN schools.

Blueprint works directly with districts to implement these strategies in schools that need it most. As a Blueprint Fellow, you will have the opportunity to be part of this bold initiative, which has the potential to significantly alter the world of education reform. Your commitment to the program will be a vital component in transforming public education.

The Denver Summit Schools Network (DSSN) Program

The Denver Public Schools (DPS) Denver Summit School Network (DSSN) is a network of ten schools charged with implementing strategies grounded in cutting-edge research surrounding high performing district and charter schools across the nation. These ten schools (six secondary and four elementary), have embraced the following strategies with the aim of accelerating achievement and transforming the schools into communities that foster success:

  1. Excellence in Leadership and Instruction
  2. Increased Instructional Time
  3. A No-Excuses Culture of High Expectations
  4. Frequent Assessments to Improve Instruction
  5. Daily Tutoring in Critical Areas

Currently, seven of the Denver Summit Schools have fully implemented the tutoring model (four secondary and 3 elementary schools).

Each DSSN school focuses on the end goal of preparing all students for success in college and their careers. DSSN is a partnership of the DPS and the Blueprint Schools Network (Blueprint).
